Almost every American credit card user has some sort of credit card debt. The bad news is that sometimes the credit card debt is too big and the interest payments are so high, that it is difficult to see the difference in the account that we owe, even if we send the payments every month. If you fall behind your payments, it will make the situation even worse! You will not only have to pay huge fees and other finance charges, but your credit card company can also raise your interest rate. So you will have to pay even more and it is very difficult to get out of this vicious cycle. Some people use balance transfer credit card offerss, but are there any other ways out?

If you are an owner of a house, you may obtain a home equity loan in order to pay off the credit card debt that you have. Usually we take this loan to improve our homes and to raise their value, but why not to use this money in order to pay off high interest rate credit card debt that we have?

The main advantage of this method of paying off your credit card debt is that home equality loan features a lower interest rate than your credit card. You can pay off all the amount of credit card debt that you have or just a part of it; however it will be an extremely affordable method of repayment.

There are many other advantages of using a home equity loan, such as easy record keeping, tax benefits and variable interest rates. Not even all best credit cards have such great conditions!

But as we well know, just like with everything good there are also some negative sides of paying off your credit card debt with home equity loan that you have to take into consideration. Sometimes once you have paid off your debt; it may be rather tempting for you to make a lot of new purchases. If you are disciplined enough and leaned the lesson, it is not a big deal at all, but if you are not, you will get many problems! Your situation will be much worse, because you will have to pay off an equity loan and your new credit card debt at the same time!

If you feel that you can find yourself in such unpleasant situation, you should really get rid of credit cards for a while or put them in a safe place so you will not feel the temptation to pay for goods and services with your plastic when you are in the store. Home equity loan can really help you to be credit card debt-free! You do have a chance to avoid bad credit and become a good and responsible credit card user!
