Can Credit Card Offers Help You to Avoid Bad Credit History after Loosing a Job?
12:00:00 AM Tuesday, September 18, 2007
Loosing a job is not a pleasant thing, but we all know that sometimes it happens. It does not only lead to stress, but to financial problems as well. It is very hard to get the same credit card offers and to have the same credit card history after loosing the job. But if you follow the tips mentioned above, your credit history-even after loosing a job-will be just fine!
Credit history can influence your life in many ways, about which you might have never thought about.
Remember that if you have bad credit history it will be difficult for you to find a good job! More and more employers check the credit history, when making hiring resolution.
My buddy Nick is a good specialist in computers, he is very educated and smart. Once he wanted to get a better job in one of the famous computer companies. He thought the job was his! But unfortunately at that time he had some financial difficulties due to the divorce with his wife. And guess what? Nick didn't get a job! The employer said that they have contacted a credit card company and have checked Nick's credit history and it left much to be desired! Therefore they thought that Nick is not a suitable candidate as with such a credit history he must have been irresponsible and unreliable!
The first thing that you really have to do when you loose a job-is to cut your expenses. The more the better. Take a look at your spendings and start buying things that you really need.
I had an unpleasant situation in my life as well. I was fired from the job and was facing hard financial time. So I took my spending list for the last month and found out that I was spending 980$ for the useless things! Cutting off my expenses helped me in overcoming financial difficulties.
Try to keep cash in hands.
Instead of cash use your credit cards! But in this situation they should be use only for necessities. Having some cash in your wallet you will be able to make at least minimum payments on your credit cards.
That's what another friend of mine- Jack did. He used his credit cards to pay for useful stuff, then for 2 months he was making the minimum payments. Jack was lucky one- he found a new job quickly and paid off his credit card debt immediately. So credit card offers helped him a lot!
As cash advance is very expensive saving cash for that reason is a good idea too.
If you can't make minimum payments let your credit card company know that you are out of work. Ask them to make lower payments for some months.
If your situation is so tough that you can't make payments even with hardship program, inform your bank or your credit card company that you can't make payments until you find a new job.
Remember that buying things with a credit card is a short-term solution. As soon as you get a new job immediately start paying off your credit card debt!
If you don't you will find yourself in even worse situation! You will not only get a bad credit history, but you will have a good chance for filling for bankruptcy!
And the best tip not to get a bad credit card history is saving money! You never know what is going to happen with you tomorrow or the day after, but if you have enough cash saved, you will have much less headaches! Worry about yourself today, then tomorrow will be a better day!
All good informatuion! But the best advice for everybody is to save money, I think nobody can argue with it.

Banks and card companies cut their lending risk factor by either lowering credit limits, increasing APRs on some credit cards or by not approving applications at all. The slumping economy and credit crisis force lenders to curtail 0% APR offers, benefits and even rewards programs. Some card offers have already imposed restrictions on when and how rewards can be redeemed.
The good news is that there are still plenty of deals offering lucrative cash back, gas and miles rewards and you only need to apply for the right card now. The difficulty here is the rewards vary from card to card and to make the best deal, you need to compare offers and choose one based on your spending priorities and financial standing. The key is to make the rewards work for you.

Most of regular unsecured credit card offers for valuable customers carry in-built benefits which are free from additional charge. The benefits include $0 fraud liability, extended warranty protection, 24-hour roadside assistance, auto rental insurance, free online account access and management services and others. While a whole range of charges associated with credit card use is not a surprise any more, the way they are sometimes applied may confuse a not too knowledgeable consumer. What hurts most is the consequence which might come up to a damaged budget at best and ruined credit at worst. The fine print is a great source of information on all the charges and terms they are applied under, but one needs to be financially educated to understand a point there.
If you're looking for a proper card offer right now, or you're already holding a plastic, the following information will be of prime importance for you, especially as the recent changes in the market require new and more rational behavior.
